"Cal," Tony asks as they pull into his driveway, "anybody ever told you you drive like a maniac?"

Obadiah chuckles. "I won't argue that," he rejoins.

"And I'm not gonna argue with that," Cal says.

He happens to believe it's true, anyway.

Obadiah shakes his head and smiles with patronizing indulgence.

Cal had half-expected him to say something smarmy about what a good friend Cal is, or something else overly clever. But he doesn't, so maybe he did take Cal seriously this morning.

Or maybe he just knows when to keep his mouth shut.

Either way. Cal smiles wryly and looks back to his game just in time to watch himself lose.

"Damn."

"Gotta keep your eye on the ball," he teases.

"You were distracting me," Cal objects.

"It is your fault," Cal says firmly, his smile only mostly suppressed.

"Now who's a terrible liar?"

"I'm not lying."

Cal makes a face at him.

(Ordinarily, he might stick out his tongue, but with their current audience - he doesn't.)

Obadiah's laughter probably doesn't need to be expressly calculated to make Cal feel icky inside, but it's safe to assume it is anyway.

But Cal's expression doesn't flicker. He just tosses his phone to Tony.

"Fine," he says lightly, "let's see how you do when you're distracted."

"You're on."

"Tony does love a challenge," Obadiah observes.

"And the sky is blue," Cal says, "and water is wet."

He casually reaches for one of the couch pillows.

"Where are you going with that, buddy?" he asks without looking up from the screen.

Cal looks innocent.

"I'm not going anywhere."

It's true.

"Because if you think I can't kick your ass and win at Tetris at the same time, think again."

He's completely bluffing.

Well, mostly bluffing.

Well, he can play Tetris and chuck pillows at the same time, anyway. Aiming is another matter entirely.

Cal makes a show of getting comfortable with the pillow, pulling his knees up and balancing it to rest his arms on.
